Migrants Galore

There were migrants everywhere so I spent the early part of the week concentrating on getting as much stock of the commoner species as possible - something which I have been guilty of ignoring for a while! The 'fall' produced spectacular numbers of Redstarts, Whinchats, Willow Warblers, Pied and Spotted Flycatchers, Whitethroats, Blackcaps and a few Wrynecks and Red-backed Shrikes. 'Falls' of this magnitude are few and far between these days so I took every available opportunity to absorb it and soak up the bird-filled atmosphere...that's what birding is all about isn't it?
