The Shortest Day...

Today was the shortest day - and just as well as the wind was gusting over 70mph in Lerwick as I was taking these images. The harbour was rammed with gulls and there were at least 8 Iceland Gulls (including the second-winter below) and 2 'Glaucs' around the Shetland Catch factory.

Lovely gull shots....you'd never know it was blowing a hoolie!

Perhaps the Eider gives it a hint.

Where are the Glaucous photos?
You must have one or two?

The Glaucs had the ir heads in the fish bins and were at best unphotogenic! Mind you, if it had been an Ivory Gull in there...!

Good to see you out braving the storms - I stayed at home with my squirrels
