Storm Petrels

A quick update - spent all last night (and most of this morning!) guiding the Focus on Shetland group for a Storm Petrel photography session. Our exclusive charter got us to the birds at 11pm and we finally got to bed around 4am when it was light! It was one of the best nights I've enjoyed photographing this superb little seabird and everybody in our group managed some great 'keepers'. The ability to control and lower the flash output direct from the 1D Mark IV is an awesome development and this now tried and tested method worked a treat. Here are a few fresh out of the camera...

Wow lovely photos of Stormies I now have one as my background...getting excited at the thought of my june trip to Shetland and seeing these wonderful birds flying in to feed their young and all the other wonderful sights and sounds of Shetland in June!
